So what is a Metrology Lab?
Metrology is the science that deals with measurement. So in short, a Metrology Lab is a specifically designed, air-conditioned metrological room containing precise measuring equipment in which the temperature and humidity are maintained and controlled.
According to the ISO 1 Standard, for dimensional measurements in the metrology sector, 20°C is the reference temperature for the geometric specifications for parts.
A Metrology Lab is required to perform accurate calibrations, measurements and mechanical processing in controlled environments at precise temperatures.
