GMS have procured two more used PV-271 drill rigs, recently removed from a mine site in the WA Goldfields.
One rig was a simple de-mob as it is a going concern, but the other rig was a logistical nightmare to recover.
As the second PV-271’s mast was in the upright position, and its engine had been removed for a breakdown prior to being sold – it required the GMS team hooking up a “buddy-pump” to lower the mast safely and then “walk” the rig onto transport.
Both machines masts were then removed and craned onto trucks, with the carriers following the next day under escort back to the GMS workshop in Forrestdale.
We will be making a full assessment of both PV-271’s over the coming weeks. At this stage the plan is to completely rebuild one machine in readiness for hire or sale, with the other will be stripped for parts to support GMS’ hire inventory.
Save time on-site, GMS can offer complete module assembles including rolling track frames, engine compressor skids and masts.
