GMS recently partnered with leading supplier of rock excavation equipment – Epiroc – to deliver a new PIT VIPER drill rig into the Pilbara on a long-term drill and blast contract hire agreement.
The PV-271 left GMS’ Forrestdale facilities for its 1350km journey to the Pilbara. Once on-site, technicians spent the next 4 days assembling the rotary and blast hole drill rig and then a further 6 days of commissioning and operator training.
In its first month of operation the Epiroc PV-271 drill rig has clocked up over 520 hours of drilling time without a hitch.
Follow the PV-271’s 1350km journey from our Forrestdale workshop to its Pilbara site.
GMS delivers drill and blast rig solutions to mining clients all over Australia and offshore, backed up by an extensive inventory of drilling equipment, drill machines as well as drill servicing, support and quality parts.
